Some Time with SmartHistory

To supplement our class discussions and prepare more fully for our return from February break, I would recommend spending some time with the SmartHistory site, in particular the section on the Reformation

and the Baroque
 http://smarthistory.khanacademy.org/1600-1700-the-Baroque.html. 

I would most highly recommend taking some time with the Baroque sections on the Dutch Republic, Spain and France as powerful tools in helping you understand some of the artists, works and their context during this extraordinary period of art creation.
